Appearance and Adornment Psychological Studies

Appearance and adornment are intimately related to people's lives and have a great influence on the way we relate to ourselves and society. These are themes of great academic significance in considering human beings, societies and our lives. Nevertheless, until now, studies on appearance and adornment has not been regarded as important. One of the reasons for this is that the subject has been divided into many different fields, and it has been difficult to accumulate and develop as an academic discipline. Now the accumulation of knowledge is gradually developing, and it might be necessary to accumulate research and refine theories across disciplines. Therefore, we have decided to publish this journal with the hope of publishing the results of the research on this theme and of stimulating mutual exchange among researchers.
The journal of Appearance and Adornment Psychological Studies will publish as a peer-reviewed online annual journal in 2022 . Anyone can submit an article and read it free of charge. The word "容装" in Japanese title was named from the word "容（Yo）=appearance" or " 装（So）=adornment ". Because many words about physical appearance and adornment contain value judgments.
This Journal of Appearance and Adornment Studies publishes research papers on appearance, attractiveness, the body, and adornment, as well as on a wide range of fields. We welcome submissions in any academic field from basic research to practical research, as long as they deal with human psychology and/or behavior related to Appearance or adornment. We hope you will join us in this new wave.
A manuscript can be written in either Japanese or English, but reviewers' comments are likely to be provided in Japanese.
